The two sides meet in the Championship on Tuesday.

Garry Monk takes his Leeds United side to Bristol City on Tuesday, and while their current form will give them plenty of confidence going into the game, the Whites can also take plenty of belief from their recent record against the Robins.

To find City’s last victory against Leeds, you would need to go back to 1997 when they claimed a 2-1 win in the League Cup. So with that in mind, here is a look at the last five meetings between the two teams.

Leeds United 1-0 Bristol City (January 2016)

Souleymane Doukara was enjoying the best spell of his Elland Road career to date when he scored the only goal just before the hour-mark to hand Leeds a narrow win. Aden Flint would miss a golden chance for the Robins late on to ensure that United held on to secure their first win in six league games.

While Flint missed a great opportunity in January, it was his goal that completed a brilliant late comeback at Ashton Gate several months earlier. Mirco Antenucci had given Leeds a first-half lead before Chris Wood doubled their advantage with his first goal for the club. But former Leeds target Kieran Agard (via Yorkshire Evening Post) gave the home side some hope in the 89th minute before Flint bagged a dramatic equaliser.

Leeds United 1-0 Bristol City (January 2013)

Ross Barkley’s loan spell at Elland Road gave few indications of the player he would become, but his most meaningful contribution came in this game in January 2013 as it was his cross that led to Ross McCormack breaking the deadlock. The game was overshadowed however, by United’s next performance which saw them knock a Gareth Bale inspired Tottenham out of the FA Cup.

Bristol City 2-3 Leeds United (September 2012)

After a goalless first hour, the game kicked into life when controversial winger El-Hadji Diouf opened the scoring for the away side. And he would add a second 10 minutes from time to put the Peacocks back in front after Albert Adomah had equalised. Michael Tonge’s strike three minutes later suggested that the points would be safe, but Rodolph Austin’s late own goal made the contest slightly more interesting.

In the wake of Simon Grayson’s poorly-timed sacking right at the end of the transfer window, Neil Redfearn took caretaker charge and could not have got off to a better start. The opener from Robert Snodgrass after 40 minutes was followed by two red cards for the home side – including one for Yannick Bolasie – before Ross McCormack and Luciano Becchio secured the victory in the final 11 minutes.
