Kun Temenuzhkov was written off by some Leeds fans when he was sent out on loan this summer, but he is working towards proving them all wrong.
Temenuzhkov was a key man in Leeds’ U23 side winning the PDL National Title back in 2019, but he’s had limited chances since then.
The 20-year-old was sent out on loan to Real Union this season, and things finally seem to be headed in the right direction for him.
After a slow start in Spain, that saw him fail to make an appearance until late October, the Bulgarian has netted two goals in three appearances, despite not yet completing a full 90 minutes.
Temenuzhkov was once tipped to be one of the next big stars in football, making the Guardian’s list of the 60 best young talents in the world in 2017, being compared to Luis Suarez in the process.
While he may not reach the levels of Suarez anytime soon, the fact that he’s shining out on loan bodes well for Leeds.

Whether or not he can break into the first-team remains to be seen. The attacking picture in Bielsa’s first-team is very complicated at the moment, with Patrick Bamford, Tyler Roberts and Rodrigo giving the Argentine something of a selection headache.
Meanwhile the likes of Sam Greenwood, Joe Gelhardt and Ryan Edmondson are all also desperate to catch Bielsa’s eye.
Regardless of what his future at Leeds looks like, it’s fantastic to see Temenuzhkov shining out on loan after a disappointing spell with La Nucia last season that saw him play just twice.
Hopefully, this is the first step towards him reaching his potential.
