Kemar Roofe recently joined Leeds United from Oxford United in the summer transfer window.
Leeds United summer signing Kemar Roofe has told The Yorkshire Evening Post that he is confident of being successful in the Championship.
Roofe joined Leeds from Oxford United on a four-year contract last month, as announced on the Championship club’s official website.
According to BBC Sport, West Yorkshire outfit Leeds had to pay a transfer fee of £3 million in order to secure the services of the 23-year-old.
The former West Bromwich Albion prospect is a versatile attacking footballer who can play as a winger or as a striker.
Roofe has stated that he is confident that he will be a success for Leeds in the Championship.
“When you move up a level I think you automatically try to raise your game and up your standard,” Roofe told The Yorkshire Evening Post.
“I’ll work as hard as I did at Oxford, as hard as I can, and I’ll go into the season with plenty of belief.
“I don’t want to sound arrogant or cocky but I believe in myself and I love scoring goals. I think I’ll be all right.”
Roofe was one of the best players for Oxford in League Two during the 2015-16 campaign.
The attacker played a key role in the U’s earning promotion to League One. The 23-year-old scored 18 goals and provided nine assists in 40 League Two matches for Oxford last season.
Leeds will be aiming to finish in the top six of the Championship this season and stand a chance of getting promoted to the Premier League for the 2017-18 campaign.
