Kalvin Phillips and Ronaldo Vieira came through the ranks at Leeds United.

Leeds United’s Kalvin Phillips complimented his former teammate Ronaldo Vieira on Instagram by lauding his strength after Sampdoria returned to pre-season training.
In 2018, Leeds parted ways with their highly-rated midfielder when he made the switch from the English Championship to Italy and to Sampdoria [BBC Spor].
Whilst Phillips makes preparations for the upcoming season with Leeds, Vieira will be looking to make his mark in Serie A where he is aiming to earn regular game time.
Nonetheless, here is Vieira’s message on Instagram, and then Phillips sending his former teammate a message:

Since making the switch to Italy, Vieira has only made 15 appearances for the Italian club, as he will be hoping to become a regular this term.
As for Phillips, working under Marcelo Bielsa last season has resulted in him producing his best form and perhaps becoming the best player in his position in the Championship.

A player like Vieira would do wonders under Bielsa and there’s no doubt that the Elland Road faithful would love Phillips and Vieira to team up again in the middle of the park.
But Leeds might need promotion to the Premier League if that were to happen as Bielsa’s side will be hoping to put that heartbreak of the play-off defeat to Derby behind ahead of the new campaign.
Surprising to some, ahead of the new season, Leeds have opted to part ways with defender Pontus Jansson, who has been a key figure at the back for the club in recent years [BBC Sport].
