Leeds United’s Izzy Brown admits he can’t tackle Samu Saiz in training

Leeds United play maker Samu Saiz has caught the eye of Izzy Brown at Elland Road.

Leeds United summer signing Izzy Brown has told the Yorkshire Evening Post that he has been very impressed by Samuel Saiz and Pablo Hernandez since arriving at Elland Road.

Brown has joined Leeds on loan for the season from Chelsea, but he is yet to make an appearance.

Leeds knew when they signed Brown that he was likely to be injured until the new year.

There are actually hopes that the attacker could recover ahead of schedule, as he is due to play in Leeds’ next under-23 match.

And Brown knows just how tough it will be to break into Leeds’ team, as some of his rivals for a first-team spot are among the Whites’ best players.

“Technically he’s unbelievable. Some days in training you can’t tackle him,” Brown said of Saiz. “They play football how football should be played: high intensity and winning the ball back in the opposing half. It’s a treat for an attacking player to play in a team like this.”

And Brown has also noted the ability of Hernandez, who often catches his eye in training.

“In training he’ll do things, so simple which you don’t see,” he said. “He’ll play one touch round the corner which cuts you out of the game and you’ll think ‘how did he do that?’”

Brown’s return to fitness will be a big boost for Leeds boss Marcelo Bielsa, who should have even more attacking options to call upon over the second half of the season.
