Leeds United have a fairly poor record against the Seagulls, but can Garry Monk put it right?
Leeds United fans could justifiably believe that their side will beat in-form Brighton & Hove Albion on Friday night.
The Whites visit Chris Hughton’s side on the back of a 2-0 win over Aston Villa for a fourth victory in five matches, which lifted them to fourth place in the Championship table.
Things are going really well at the moment under Garry Monk but those of a pessimistic disposition could be expecting a defeat – and here is why:

Not only did Leeds lose 4-0 in this fixture last season – all four goals being conceded a horrendous first-half showing by Steve Evans’s side – but United have lost all four of their previous Championship meetings with the Seagulls.
Furthermore, Albion are unbeaten in 11 home league matches against the Yorkshire outfit, with Simon Grayson’s Leeds outfit winning 3-0 during a League One clash way back in 2009.

Under Monk, they are very well equipped to break that curse on Friday night but history has a strange way of repeating itself.
Plus, it is not like Brighton are mugs at the moment. They are unbeaten in 13 Championship matches – nine of those being wins – and victory over Monk’s side would see them jump top of the division.
It could well be a cracker, but if head-to-head has any bearing whatsoever then fans of the Whites should brace themselves for disappointment.
