Manchester City are reportedly rivalling Leeds for Dan James.

Daniel James of Wales celebrates his goal during the UEFA EURO 2020 Qualifier match between Wales and Slovakia at the Cardiff City Stadium on March 24, 2019 in Cardiff, Wales.

Manchester City are considering rivalling Leeds United to sign Swansea City’s Dan James, report The Sun.

James is in form and scored Wales’ winner against Slovakia during the international break. City are said to be weighing up a £7 million move.

Leeds almost signed James in the transfer window, and don’t stand much chance of beating Manchester City to him if Pep Guardiola’s side hold serious interest.

However, there could be one positive.

James signing with City makes it even harder for Jack Harrison to make a breakthrough at The Etihad.

Harrison is on loan at Leeds and has made positive signs of progress in 2019.

He already faces an impossibly high bar at City to even get on their bench.

Jack Harrison of Leeds United stands dejected during the Sky Bet Championship match between Leeds United and Blackburn Rovers at Elland Road on December 26, 2018 in Leeds, England.

Dan James signing would block his path further, and could be the final straw.

Harrison may seem like a consolation prize for Leeds, but his record in the Championship this season compares well with Dan James.

James has two goals and four assists in 21 Championship games.

Harrison has three goals and two assists in 29 games.

Missing out on James to City would be a blow to Leeds, but it would enhance their chances of landing Harrison permanently.

Leeds United's Jack Harrison scores his side's second goal during the Sky Bet Championship match between Leeds United and Derby County at Elland Road on January 11, 2019 in Leeds, England.
