Leeds United may still have high hopes for Bobby Kamwa, but he may find himself playing for Rotherham United this coming season.
Kamwa, 21, was born in Yaounde in Cameroon but moved to England at the age of just nine.
The versatile attacker has endured some injury problems in the past, but did chip in with two goals in 11 games as Leeds won the Premier League 2 Division Two title.
Kamwa isn’t particularly close to the Leeds first team setup right now, but he does still have one year left on the contract he signed last summer.
Intriguingly, Kamwa has now played for another Yorkshire club this week having turned out for Rotherham United.
Kamwa played 66 minutes for the Millers in a pre-season friendly against Harrogate Town, which Rotherham won 3-1.
Rotherham were short of players, so Leeds allowed Kamwa to go and play for the League One side – and it could end up being a longer-term arrangement.
Assistant boss Richie Barker has told the Rotherham Advertiser that Kamwa will stick around with Rotherham for a few days, and that’s what was initially agreed with Leeds.
Branded ‘exciting’ by Leeds academy boss Adam Underwood in 2018, Kamwa hasn’t quite kicked on with Leeds, but could now earn himself a loan or even permanent move to Rotherham in search of success.
