Here is the second part of our countdown looking at Leeds United’s best striker signings since their relegation from the top flight.

In the second part of our countdown looking at Leeds United’s best striker signings, we look at the acquisitions that rank between 10 and six on the list…

10. Rob Hulse

Rob Hulse boasted a very impressive strike rate following his loan move to Leeds in 2005. And while he was not quite able to maintain that rate following his permanent switch, his total of 12 goals in 39 league games still helped the Whites reach the play-off final in 2006. He joined Sheffield United after Leeds were beaten soundly by Watford in Cardiff.

9. Souleymane Doukara

If this list was compiled at the end of the season, it is more than possible to imagine Souleymane Doukara sitting much higher than he currently is. After an inconsistent first couple of seasons at Elland Road, Doukara is really starting to find his feet under Garry Monk. Though he has not been the most prolific goalscorer, there have been a handful of games where Doukara has turned the tide in Leeds’ favour.

8. Mirco Antenucci

The Italian may have left supporters incredibly frustrated at times, but he certainly had the ability to make something special happen out of nothing. He finished his first season as the club’s top goalscorer, and only had Chris Wood ahead of him in his second and final season.

7. Matt Smith

Considering that Smith had not played in the Championship before his move to Leeds, there is no question that his performances for the Whites deserve plenty of praise. His partnership with Ross McCormack threatened to be something special, and his strike rate – having scored 12 in 42 league games – was much more impressive given that he was often brought on to be an impact substitute. Fans still question why he was allowed to leave for Fulham in 2014.

6. David Healy

Given that David Healy was often deployed in a slightly wider role, his return of 29 goals in 111 league games is reasonably impressive, especially given the turmoil the club was in during the latter stages of his time in Yorkshire. He had the potential to be the man to fire Leeds back into the top flight, but was rarely given the chance to play through the middle.
