Leeds United youngster Alex Mowatt reveals how hard he works on free kicks after training.
Leeds United midfielder Alex Mowatt has explained to The Yorkshire Evening Post why he is so good with his free-kicks.
The 20-year-old scored with a set-piece against Ipswich Town at Elland Road on Wednesday.
The English youngster found the target in the 71st minute with an effort from 25 yards out, whipping the ball beyond Ipswich goalkeeper Bartosz Bialkowski at his near post.
It was Mowatt’s sixth goal in 26 Championship appearances this season and helped Leeds get the better of the Tractor Boys 2-1.
It was also the youngster’s second goal from a free-kick this season, and he has now highlighted the hard work he puts in during training.
“I practice free kicks every day,” Mowatt told The Yorkshire Evening Post. “I do about 30 after training.”
It seems that Mowatt is keen on perfecting his free-kick skills and, as the Opta Stats table shows, he is getting there.

Two goals out of five attempts from free-kicks is a great return, especially for someone as young as Mowatt.
Mowatt is one of the best young midfielders in the Championship – maybe even in England – and becoming a free-kick specialist is only going to enhance his reputation.
The hard work that Mowatt puts in training shows how much he wants to improve and better himself.
