Alex Mowatt has not been playing well for Leeds United this season.
Alex Mowatt is one of the most talented young players in the Championship, but the Leeds United midfielder has not been at his best for quite a while.
The 21-year-old midfielder did not have a great 2015-16 campaign on a personal level, and he is now not guaranteed a place in Garry Monk’s starting lineup.
As the following Opta Stats table shows, the English youngster has not been able to built on his superb 2014-15 season for Leeds.

| Season | Passing Accuracy | Tackles Won | Interceptions Won | Ball Recovery | Touches | Shots on Target | Chances Created | Goals | Appearances | Mins Played | |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Alex Mowatt | 2014-2015 | 82% | 43 | 44 | 163 | 1,950 | 20 | 49 | 9 | 38 | 3,054 |
| Alex Mowatt | 2015-2016 | 81% | 23 | 19 | 112 | 1,160 | 12 | 30 | 2 | 34 | 1,886 |
| Alex Mowatt | 2016-2017 | 77% | 6 | 2 | 17 | 154 | 1 | 5 | 0 | 7 | 283 |

It is time for Mowatt to step up his game and show Monk what he is capable of.
There can be no doubt that the Leeds midfielder is hugely talented and very promising, but his performances have to improve.
Monk is a very good and talented young manager, and the former Swansea City boss will know the quality that Mowatt possesses.
The Leeds youngster has to make the most of the chances he gets in whatever position he is played in the coming weeks.
The West Yorkshire outfit will take on Derby County away from home at the iPro Stadium in the Championship on Saturday afternoon.
