Leeds United midfielder Adam Forshaw has suggested to BBC Radio Leeds that he has been frustrated with his lack of playing time so far this season.

Forshaw made the comments following Leeds’s 2-0 win against Ipswich Town at Elland Road in the Championship on Wednesday evening.

The 27-year-old midfielder did not start the match, but the former Everton and Brentford man came on as a substitute in the 57th minute.

Leeds midfielder Forshaw has admitted that it has been frustrating for him not to have played much so far this campaign due to injury problems.

Forshaw told BBC Radio Leeds: “It has been a frustrating time for me, the start of the season.

“It has been great to watch the lads doing so well, but now I feel I am really back at my fitness and my level.

“I have bid my time, and hopefully I can participate a little bit more now and helped the team.”

Important player

Forshaw has played 123 minutes of Championship football for Leeds so far this season and has yet to start a game in the league, according to WhoScored.

However, given his performances for the Whites during the second half of last season, there is no doubt that the 27-year-old will be important for the West Yorkshire outfit as the season progresses.

According to The Sun, Leeds paid Championship rivals Middlesbrough a transfer fee of £4.5 million in order to sign Forshaw in January 2018.
