Under new boss Garry Monk, Leeds United have been transformed into one of the most entertaining teams in the Championship.

Steadying the somewhat turbulent Leeds United ship, Steve Evans was given the duty of guiding the Whites to the end of their 15/16 Championship season.

Despite making Leeds hard to beat, many fans didn’t feel Evans was the right man to take them forward, and the board agreed, parting ways with the former Rotherham United manager after the club’s 13th place finish.

Looking for a more exciting brand of football, Massimo Cellino turned to former Swansea manager, Garry Monk, who joined in the summer as Head Coach.

Moving quickly to strengthen his squad over the summer, Monk brought in a number of signings, including Robert Green, Kemar Roofe and Luke Ayling, as well as some impressive loan signings such as Pablo Hernandez, Hadi Sacko, Kyle Bartley and Pontus Jansson.

After a turbulent start, Leeds United’s season got going in September, as the Whites picked up three straight wins at the hands of Blackburn Rovers, Cardiff City and Ipswich Town, the latter thanks to a goal from Chris Wood.

The run propelled Monk’s side on, with Leeds going on to win 5 of their 8 fixtures over October and November, including a 2-3 win against promotion rivals, Norwich City.

Now sitting in the top six in December, Leeds United look like a good bet for promotion this season, as long as the somewhat unpredictable Leeds board can keep the ship steady.
