Leeds United youngster Jordan Stevens could be the big winner from the club’s tour squad.

Manager Marcelo Bielsa named only 16 players in the squad, leaving a number of first team stars behind to work on their fitness.

Teenager Stevens has a great chance to show what he can do.

On the cusp

Stevens is already on the verge of the Leeds first team. He made his first team debut last season.

He came off the bench against Stoke City and was an unnamed substitute on a further six occasions in the Championship.

This is his chance to put himself in line for a starting role.

Versatility

One of Stevens’ assets is his versatility. He can play in both defensive and attacking midfield roles.

This could put the former Forest Green trainee in line to challenge either Adam Forshaw, or attacker Pablo Hernandez.

Last season he also played for the under-23s on the wing, an area where Leeds have struggled to find consistency, but are now blessed with options.

Big chance

Stevens could get a chance to make a name for himself against Manchester United in pre-season.

Doing so will really help him stand out from his competition, and have fans clamouring for the 19-year-old to get more opportunities.
