Leeds United will be hurting if Daniel James goes to Manchester United

Leeds United were strongly linked with Daniel James, who is now a reported target of Manchester United.

According to the Daily Mail, Manchester United are now leading the race to sign former Leeds United target Daniel James.

The Red Devils have stepped up their pursuit of the Swansea City winger, and are keen to sign him for £10 million this summer.

And if the transfer of James to Old Trafford does go through it could really sting at Leeds.

The Whites were so close to signing James on deadline day, when they winger was sat at Elland Road but the deal was not completed in time, as reported by the Yorkshire Evening Post.

Leeds have already missed James this term, as their form has dipped since January.

It was thought that Marcelo Bielsa’s men may go back for James in the summer, but they are now facing fierce competition.

Manchester United’s interest in James really complicates things for Leeds.

And if James was to join one of Leeds’ biggest rivals, after coming so close to moving to Elland Road, then it would be a very sore transfer for Whites fans to have to see.
