Leeds United want Wilfried Gnonto
Sky Italia’s Gianluca Di Marzio now reports that Leeds are showing a ‘strong interest’ in signing Zurich forward Wilfried Gnonto.
It’s stated that Leeds want to get a deal for Gnonto wrapped up by August 25th, so 10 days from now.
Di Marzio claims that a deal can be done for a fee of around €5million (£4.25million), which will hardly break the bank for Leeds.
Football Manager players will be well aware of Gnonto and he is starting to show his potential in real life too.
The 18-year-old forward, formerly of Inter Milan, joined Zurich in 2020 as he chased a pathway to first-team football.
Gnonto has certainly succeeded on that front, playing 69 first-team games for Zurich whilst bagging 12 goals and nine assists.
Gnonto is a diminutive and quick attacker who can play up front or out wide and he is already featuring on the international stage.
Italy called Gnonto up earlier this year and gave him four caps, with the teenager already bagging a goal and an assist.
Roberto Mancini has hailed Gnonto as ‘technical and fast’, two attributes that will leave Leeds fans very excited.
A number of other clubs have been linked with Gnonto over the summer but Leeds now appear to be moving to the front of the queue.
