Leeds United want Weston McKennie and Jesse Marsch will be looking to bring some consistency to his game should a deal materialise.

The Whites have been looking to sign a new midfielder this month with Angers ace Azzedine Ounahi believed to be a top target.

Yet those rumours have quietened down in recent days with Juventus ace Weston McKennie now the key target.

Sky Italia’s Gianluca Di Marzio reported on Tuesday that Leeds had made contact with Juventus to try and sign McKennie.

Sky Germany’s Florian Plettenberg adds that McKennie is open to joining Leeds as he seeks a move away from Juventus.

Fabrizio Romano even claims that McKennie has accepted a contract proposal from Leeds and a move seems to be heading in the right direction.

The concern is that Corriere dello Sport report that Arsenal have come forward with a late move for McKennie, possibly ruining Leeds’ hopes.

Jesse Marsch has already given very honest verdict on Leeds target Weston McKennie

A deal for McKennie would see Leeds boost their American numbers once again.

Tyler Adams and Brenden Aaronson are already at the club, as is boss Jesse Marsch.

49ers Enterprises look set to take over the club in the near future too, the American influence at Leeds is strong.

McKennie would add to that and Marsch would definitely want to bring some more consistency to the midfielder’s game.

Speaking to The Athletic last year, Marsch offered a very honest verdict on McKennie by suggesting that he is very inconsistent.

“I love Weston McKennie. But he, like Dybala, can be outstanding one day, flat on another,” said Marsch.

Yet here we are, less than a year on and Leeds are pushing to sign McKennie and add him to Marsch’s midfield options.

Marsch must believe that he can get the best out of McKennie on a regular basis, turning him into a solid contributor rather than an up-and-down player as he has been in recent times.
