Leeds United have scouted Weston McKennie but face competition from the likes of Arsenal, Everton and Newcastle United.

The Whites find themselves in real danger of another relegation battle.

All the talk after staying up at Brentford on the final day of last season was that this couldn’t happen again, Leeds wouldn’t be in the same position come May 2023.

Four defeats in a row and two points in the last eight games means Leeds are very much staring at another relegation battle.

Leeds United have scouted Weston McKennie

Whether Jesse Marsch keeps his job or not remains to be seen.

Yet with 49ers Enterprises having a big influence at Leeds, the American flavour could continue at Elland Road.

Tyler Adams and Brenden Aaronson are on board at Leeds and may yet be joined by another United States international.

CBS Sports reporter Ben Jacobs has taken to Twitter to report that Leeds have been scouting Juventus midfielder Weston McKennie.

Jacobs adds that Arsenal, Everton and Newcastle United have joined them in watching McKennie ahead of the January window.

Jacobs even claims that McKennie met with Tottenham’s Fabio Paratici last January to talk over a move to Spurs, but Tottenham are now undecided about a move.

That means another Premier League club could swoop in for McKennie with his future at Juventus looking unsure at best.

Jesse Marsch has admitted in the past that he ‘loves’ McKennie but it’s unclear whether he will be in charge to sign him come January.

McKennie, 24, has started eight Serie A games this season but Juventus having a patchy season means he could still be axed come January.

Premier League clubs are now weighing up a move for the American and should he impress at the World Cup in Qatar, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see him head to England.

Hailed as ‘dominant’ by Christian Pulisic, it may soon be time for McKennie to join the Chelsea winger in the Premier League.
