Ibrox club Glasgow Rangers goalkeeper Wes Foderingham was reportedly on the radar of Leeds United before they signed Kiko Casilla.

Back in November 2018, The Express reported that Leeds United were interested in signing Wes Foderingham from Rangers in the January transfer window.
Foderingham had been – and still is – struggling for regularly playing time at Rangers following the return of Allan McGregor to Ibrox in the summer of 2018 for his second spell at the Gers.
The 28-year-old is a very good goalkeeper and would have been a decent signing for Leeds, but the Championship club in England recently secured the services of Spain international Kiko Casilla.
Leeds’s apparent decision not to pursue Foderingham seems to have paid off, with Rangers manager Steven Gerrard making it clear that he does not want the goalkeeper to leave, but accepts that things could change in the final days of the January transfer window.
Rangers have signed former Liverpool prospect Andy Firth on an 18-month contract, and questions will be asked regarding the future of Foderingham.
Gerrard, though, has stated that the 28-year-old former Swindon Town goalkeeper will stay at Ibrox, and is quoted as saying by The Glasgow Evening Times: “I want Wes to stay here for the remainder of the season. I also understand the situation, he’s desperate to be a No.1.
“I don’t want to stay Wes is 100 per cent staying because I don’t know what the next few days will bring.
“I want to keep him, I want him to push Allan to play. Of course we all know things can change.”
With Foderingham’s future at Rangers under some uncertainty, Leeds were smart not to pursue their (reported) initial interest in the Ibrox goalkeeper and move for Casilla, who is a former Real Madrid player and a three-time Champions League winner.
