The Belgian has struggled on loan at Roda JC in the Netherlands.

It seems Leeds United will be on the hunt for a new left-back this summer. Charlie Taylor has seemingly made it clear he will not be signing an extension to his contract at Elland Road, which expires this summer.

Leeds have of course known for some time that Taylor may not be sticking around at the club, so other targets will have been considered.

One such player who Leeds have been linked with in the past has been Bryan Verboom.

The Belgian, who has five caps for his nation’s under-21s, was linked with a move from Zulte-Waregem last summer and he told Belgian newspaper Het Laaste Nieuws, as quoted by Voetbal Nieuws, that the Belgian side had blocked a move as they could not find a permanent replacement.

But after the season he has had, Leeds are unlikely to make a move for the player.

He lost his place at Zulte and was loaned out to Eredivisie side Roda JC in January. He has played just 91 minutes of football for the Dutch side since making the move, starting just one game.

Leeds will be looking at plenty of left-back options this summer, but it would be a surprise if Verboom was one of them.
