Leeds United reportedly want to sign Sam Byram on a free transfer.

According to 90min, Leeds United are interested in securing the services of Sam Byram in the summer transfer window.

Bryam is a free agent at the moment after his contract at Norwich City ran out at the end of last season.

The former West Ham United right-back is reportedly on trial at Leeds at the moment.

Football Insider has reported that Leeds view the 29-year-old full-back as a left-back option.

Byram came through the Leeds academy and starred for the first team before moving to West Ham in 2016.

The Englishman joined Norwich in 2019 and worked with current Leeds head coach Daniel Farke at Carrow Road.

“Leeds are also set to reunite new manager Daniel Farke with versatile full-back Sam Byram, who is available on a free transfer following the expiry of his Norwich contract,” states the report in 90min.

Sam Byram could be a smart signing for Leeds United

In our opinion, Sam Byram would be a smart signing for Leeds United in the summer transfer window.

Byram has played for Leeds in the Championship and knows the club inside out.

The West Yorkshire club will be determined to win promotion back to the Premier League next season.

The 29-year-old is a free agent at the moment.

Byram has not found a club yet, which suggests that Leeds could be able to convince him to sign a one-year or two-year contract without paying an astronomical amount in wages.

The full-back himself could be very keen on playing for Leeds and helping his former club get back to the Premier League.

During his time in the Premier League, Byram gave one assist and kept nine clean sheets in 59 appearances
