Leeds United remain interested in signing Viktor Gyokeres and are planning a summer move for the Coventry City striker.
That’s according to TEAMtalk, who claim that Leeds will move for Gyokeres this summer no matter what division they find themselves in.
It’s suggested that Leeds think Gyokeres can make the step up to the Premier League or be the striker to figure the Whites back to the top flight if they go down.
A number of clubs wanted to sign Gyokeres in January but Coventry slapped a £25million asking price on his head – which nobody was willing to pay.
Leeds were one of the clubs believed to be interested and The Athletic reported in January that the Swede was viewed as an alternative to Georginio Rutter.
Yet with the Leeds attack still struggling for goals, Leeds may well look to land Gyokeres and potentially use him alongside Rutter moving forward.

Leeds United target Viktor Gyokeres will be in demand this summer
Gyokeres, 24, was on the books at Brighton and Hove Albion between 2018 and 2021 but never made a league appearance.
The 6ft 2in striker has really kicked on at Coventry though and finished last season with 18 goals in 47 games.
Gyokeres has been prolific this season too, finding the net 14 times in 32 Championship outings for the Sky Blues.
That kind of goalscoring form across two seasons is always going to attract interest and Leeds appear to be very keen.
Leeds fans probably weren’t expecting transfer rumours mere hours after the appointment of new boss Javi Gracia but here we are.
Add in that ESPN claim Leeds are targeting a deal for Barcelona winger Ilias Akhomach and it looks like Victor Orta is already making plans for the summer.
Staying in the Premier League would be a major boost to Leeds’ transfer hopes but Orta may be trying to get a head start on his Premier League rivals by looking at summer moves in February.
