Leeds United are set to sign Hoffenheim striker Georginio Rutter – and Victor Orta then wants two young signings to follow him to Elland Road.

That’s according to the Daily Mail, who claim that Orta’s next priority is securing the signatures of two young players.

Orta has placed a keen focus on signing young players for the Leeds developmental ranks throughout his time at Elland Road.

The likes of Pascal Struijk, Leo Hjelde, Joe Gelhardt, Charlie Allan, Cody Drameh, Sam Greenwood, Crysencio Summerville, Amari Miller, Sean McGurk, Lewis Bate, Mateo Joseph… the list just goes on and on.

The hope is that the young players being brought to Leeds will eventually grow to first-team level just as Struijk has in recent times.

Rutter himself is a young player at just 20 but Leeds are viewing him as a first-team player and two more signings as talents for the future.

Who could Leeds United sign this month?

The Mail’s report names Birmingham City midfielder George Hall as a prime target for Leeds.

The 18-year-old has started just five Championship games this season and reports of late have suggested a move is on the cards.

The Sun’s Alan Nixon suggested in December that Everton were leading the race for Hall whilst the Mail reported that Liverpool fancy landing the teenager.

Leeds still seemingly have hope with Orta eyeing up the midfielder for a January move.

Another talent potentially heading to Leeds is Club Brugge goalkeeper Senne Lammens.

The 20-year-old is set to join Leeds according to Het Laatste Nieuws in Belgium.

Lammens has made just one first-team appearance for Club Brugge but Leeds may believe that he can become a first-team stop down the line.

Interest in Illan Meslier is expected and Leeds may look for Lammens or Kristoffer Klaesson to emerge as a long-term replacement.

It sounds like Leeds would want Rutter and Maximilian Wober to wrap up their first-team additions, with younger signings to come.
