Leeds United’s under-23s have not had the best of seasons. With the best youngsters playing regularly in the Leeds first-team the West Yorkshire side’s youngsters have struggled throughout the season.

However, they did pick up an impressive win in their final game of the season, defeating Colchester United 3-0 away from home.

It was their first win in the league since they beat Barnsley in November, so Leeds fans were pleased to hear they were back in the habit.

The star of the show was Irish forward Eoghan Stokes.

The 20-year-old attacker scored two goals in the game, with Mallik Wilks scoring the other, as Leeds picked up this important win.

Stokes was clearly happy with the result and with bagging two goals for himself, as he showed with this Twitter post:

Stokes has been knocking on the door of the Leeds first-team for a number of seasons now but has still not featured for the first-team in a competitive fixture.

Leeds fans will be hoping that this result is a precursor to a much better season for their development team next season. But as long as hot prospects keep being produced for the first-team, then the team at Thorp Arch will be happy with the job they are doing.
