Leeds United under-23 coach Carlos Corberan has spoken out on the brawl which caused their friendly match to be abandoned.
The fixture at Rhyl was called off in the second half after a melee saw both sides ordered to the changing rooms.
They did not return and the game was abandoned, with Rhyl announcing they have declared an investigation into the events.
Corberan felt his Leeds side were blameless, and took to Twitter to say he was proud of them.
Supporters reacted to Corberan’s message to praise his team.
Leeds put out a young side and the club had a duty of care towards the players up against more senior veterans who were playing more aggressively.
The trip to Wales isn’t one the players involved will probably forget in a hurry, but it will be one they will be keen to quickly put behind them, and appear to have a clear conscience over their own involvement.
