Leeds United are set to sign Tyler Adams just weeks after the RB Leipzig midfielder thought a move to Elland Road wouldn’t be happening.
The Whites sold midfielder Kalvin Phillips to Manchester City on Monday morning as he made an emotional exit.
Teenage midfielder Darko Gyabi has arrived at Leeds from City but it would be a big ask to expect the teenager to immediately thrive in the Premier League.
Marc Roca has arrived but Leeds will need more midfield additions if they are to replace the influence of Phillips.
Leeds United are set to sign Tyler Adams
Leeds look set to land a major addition to their midfield with RB Leipzig ace Adams on the verge of a move.
Fabrizio Romano claims that a £20million deal is agreed and Adams is travelling to England for a medical very soon.
Adams, 23, only started 12 Bundesliga games last season and will now jump at the chance to play a much bigger role at Leeds.
Quick, hard-working and defensively intelligent, Adams should be the runner alongside the deep passing ability of Roca in the Leeds midfield.
Leeds boss Jesse Marsch worked with Adams at New York Red Bulls and then at RB Leipzig, so their reunion maybe isn’t a huge surprise.

Marsch has even branded Adams a ‘special’ player, so joining forces again makes perfect sense – even if it didn’t to Adams at first.
ESPN analyst and former United States international Taylor Twellman has now taken to Twitter to discuss Adams moving to Leeds.
Twellman claims that he spoke to Adams before World Cup qualifying games – most likely in January when links first emerged or in March when Marsch had been appointed – about joining Leeds.
Adams suggested that a Leeds move was a ‘long shot’ yet will now complete his move to Elland Road in the coming days.
It’s funny how quickly things can change in football and Adams will be desperate to shine at Leeds having been in and out of the Leipzig team last season.
