Leeds United star Tyler Adams was superb for the United States against Iran and has now been praised by pundit Danny Higginbotham.

USA gave themselves a great chance of qualifying for the last 16 after draws with Wales and England.

The task was simple; beat Iran and set up a last 16 clash with Group A winners the Netherlands.

Gregg Berhalter’s side pulled it off as Chelsea ace Christian Pulisic pounced with the only goal of the game in the first half.

USA had to withstand pressure from Iran in the second half but stood firm to claim a 1-0 win and book their spot in the knockout stages.

Danny Higginbotham hails Leeds United ace Tyler Adams

USA have looked promising in Qatar and could pose major problems for the Netherlands.

Despite concerns heading into the tournament, USA have been solid defensively but are still waiting for their attack to really click.

In midfield is where USA have arguably been most impressive.

Tyler Adams is anchoring the midfield with Yunus Musah and Weston McKennie given more freedom to move between box to box.

Adams has been simply outstanding so far; certainly USA’s best performer in the tournament and arguably one of the top midfielders at the World Cup.

Leeds fans have fallen in love with Adams since his summer move from RB Leipzig and he is now showing his quality on the world stage.

Pundit and former Manchester United defender Danny Higginbotham has now offered his praise for the Leeds star.

Higginbotham took to Twitter to state that Adams was simply ‘immense’ for USA in their win over Iran.

Higginbotham added that Adams has been one of the top players in the whole of the World Cup so far, offering huge praise for the American.

If USA are to dump the Netherlands out too, they will need Adams to continue this form.
