Leeds United will have seen four centre-backs depart this summer.

Leeds United’s decision to sell Pontus Jansson (via Yorkshire Post) is a big gamble by the Whites.
It’s an even bigger risk considering Leeds have just sold or released three talented centre-backs during the preceding three weeks.
Leeds sold Paudie O’Connor, sold Aapo Halme and released Hugo Diaz.
All three had played for the first team, stepping in as emergency cover, each acquitting themselves well in their brief opportunities.
With Jansson around, the decisions to get rid of all three could be justified with Leeds already having an established first choice.
Now it doesn’t look so good, with Liam Cooper, Gaetano Berardi and loanee Ben White a decent yet hardly spectacular set of options.

The situation would have been primed for a youngster to emerge, and perhaps it still could be, with Dutch prospect Pascal Struijk impressive for the under-23s.
Leeds need to make further additions, only a new permanent signing could possibly justify them cutting four centre-backs from their books.
