Leeds United are reportedly considering a move for Besiktas winger Jeremain Lens.
Turkish outlet Aspor report Leeds scouted Lens during Besiktas’ recent Europa League match in Norway.
Lens had a spell at Sunderland previously, and did not want to hang around at the club for long.
Signed for £8 million, Lens joined a relegation threatened team and struggled to make an impression, and sought to head out on loan.
He was a player former Sunderland boss Sam Allardyce thought a lot of, when it came to talent.
Allardyce told ESPN: “I have put him back in the squad and when he gets the chance to play, let’s hope he can grasp that chance and prove that he’s an immense talent, as has been shown in other countries.”
Lens, 31, ended up signing permanently with Besiktas after a loan spell, and he was not keen to play in the Championship after Sunderland’s relegation.
That would have to count against Leeds, but manager Marcelo Bielsa is such a renowned name globally, that Lens could be tempted to consider a switch to Elland Road.
This season Lens has scored five goals in all competitions and provided six assists.
