Leeds United have now joined Tottenham Hotspur in the race to sign Bristol City teenager Alex Scott ahead of the summer window.

The Daily Mail reported in February that Everton and West Ham United were lining up moves to sign Scott.

London World added in March that Tottenham Hotspur had pushed themselves to the front of the queue for Scott.

Scout Peter Braund allegedly watched Scott in action for Bristol City. Braund also watched Scott play for the England Under-19’s in November.

It looks like Tottenham have a heavy interest in Scott as they look to add homegrown talent to Antonio Conte’s squad.

Now though, The Mirror claim that Leeds have joined the fight for Scott after a recent scouting mission.

It’s claimed that both Leeds and Tottenham sent scouts to watch Scott feature for Bristol City against Stoke City on Good Friday.

A versatile performer, Scott has played as a wing back, midfielder or number 10 having emerged into the Bristol City first team.

Bristol City allegedly want around £10million for Scott given that he is under contract until 2025.

Scott, 18, hails from Guernsey and was snapped up by Bristol City in December 2019 having impressed in non-league.

Now an England youth international, Scott seems primed for a Premier League move in the very near future.

Compared to Jack Grealish for his style of play – and the alliteration of the ‘Guernsey Grealish’ – Scott could be on the move this summer.

The deal would be a mere fraction of the £100million Grealish actually cost, so Scott could actually become a bargain.

Leeds are always in the market for talented youngsters like Lewis Bate, Sam Greenwood and Joe Gelhardt, so their interest in Scott makes sense.

Beating Tottenham won’t be easy, especially given their long-standing interest, but Leeds now seem ready to enter the race.
