Leeds United look set to miss out on signing goalkeeper Alexander Nubel as he closes in on joining Stuttgart.
Bayern Munich goalkeeper Alexander Nubel looks set for Stuttgart rather than Leeds United.
That is according to Sky Germany reporter Florian Plettenberg, who claim that Stuttgart is now considered the most likely destination for Nubel.
It’s suggested that a deal could even be finalised today with Nubel nearing a move to Stuttgart.
Bayern haven’t yet given the green light as there are still some ‘last details’ to thrash out with Stuttgart.
Sport Bild claim that the deal will be a one-year loan move and that Leeds United will miss out.
It’s suggested that Leeds were willing to pay up to €10million (£8.65million) to sign Nubel permanently this summer.
However, Nubel wants to stay in Germany and that means he is ready to snub joining forces with fellow German Daniel Farke.

Leeds United must now move on from Alexander Nubel
There doesn’t appear to be much chance of Nubel joining Leeds now with the 26-year-old inching closer to joining Stuttgart.
Leeds must now move on and look to other goalkeeping targets.
Illan Meslier could leave this summer whilst veteran stopper Joel Robles was released at the end of the season.

That means Leeds could end up needing to sign two goalkeepers, although Kristoffer Klaesson could be promoted.
Karl Darlow was linked but seems closer to joining Bournemouth whilst James Trafford was eyed before securing a huge move to Burnley.
The Athletic’s Phil Hay has highlighted interest in Norwich City stopper Angus Gunn and Preston North End’s Freddie Woodman whilst speaking on the The Square Ball Podcast.
Maybe Leeds have to push for one of those two next, with Nubel set to disappear as an option at Elland Road.
