Leeds United target Karl Darlow would be a big upgrade on Felix Wiedwald.

Darlow is looking for first team football after sitting on the bench for Newcastle this past season, 12 months after helping them gain promotion.

His efforts in 2016/17 make him even more attractive for the Whites.
The Chronicle‘s report says Darlow could be available at just £2 million, and this would be a bargain considering how he was being lined up by Chelsea just last year.
The Sun reported in January 2017 that Chelsea wanted Darlow, but Newcastle were unwilling to let him leave unless there was a bid of around £8 million.

Darlow is not perfect, he is still a few years away from his peak and Newcastle replaced him for a reason, because they did not believe he was Premier League quality.
Leeds just need top level Championship quality at this stage, and Darlow has already proved himself in that regard.
He has a mistake in him, but they are rare. He made three goal costing errors during his time in the Championship, fewer than Leeds stopper Felix Wiedwald who eclipsed him in less than half the time.
| Team | Errors Leading To Goal | Appearances | Mins Played | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Felix Wiedwald | Leeds | 5 | 28 | 2,520 |
| Karl Darlow | Newcastle / Forest | 3 | 76 | 6,840 |
These figures show Darlow is a big upgrade on the German, and he could battle it out with Bailey Peacock-Farrell for the number one spot.
It is a battle that in the short term he would be expected to win.
