Leeds United are hoping to do a deal for Wolves winger Helder Costa, report the Yorkshire Evening Post.
A loan switch would be a terrific coup, especially considering Costa was called into the Portugal national squad for the first time this past season.
Costa was called into the squad last October, and backed to become a key player for his country.
His former Deportivo teammate Diogo Salamao told Noticias last year: “He is fast, skilled and has a lot of mobility in the last third.
“I hope to see Hélder shine in this new stage and I believe he can become an important player for the future of Portugal.”
Costa’s inconsistent spell at Wolves in the second half of the season damaged his international prospects.
He was not part of the side which won the UEFA Nations League earlier this month.
International prospects could be one of the worries Costa has about Leeds, whether dropping down a division will harm his chances.
But working under Marcelo Bielsa is a unique opportunity, and one he has to consider if Leeds are offering regular game time, considering that he started less than half of Wolves’ games last year.
