Leeds United want Gift Orban and the Gent striker faces ‘two job interviews’ against West Ham United in the Europa Conference League.

Orban has been hitting the headlines since a January move to Gent.

The Nigerian attacker had already impressed in Norway with Stabaek, hitting 18 goals in 23 games.

Gent appear to have found a gem as Orban has racked up a ridiculous 14 goals in just 12 outings.

Orban somehow managed to smash a hat-trick in just three minutes and 25 seconds against Basaksehir last month.

Those goalscoring exploits have unsurprisingly sparked major interest in Orban.

TEAMtalk suggested in March that Leeds United and Leicester City are both keen on the Gent star.

Orban has only been at Gent for a matter of weeks but a summer transfer isn’t out of all realms of possibility.

Gift Orban set to feature against West Ham United

Leeds now have a great chance to watch Orban in action against Premier League opposition.

Gent take on West Ham United in the Europa Conference League quarter-finals, with the first leg taking place in Belgium today.

West Ham may be favourites but Orban will pose a major threat to David Moyes’ hopes.

Belgian reporter and commentator Peter Vandenbempt has now spoken to BBC Sport about Orban’s rise.

Vandenbempt notes that Orban is incredibly confident and proved to be an immediate solution to Gent’s goalscoring woes.

Vandenbempt added that Orban dreams of playing in the Premier League, so these games against West Ham are ‘like two job interviews’.

“He is extremely self confident and managed to solve the problems that Gent had scoring goals. Gift is an open character too and wasn’t shy to turn on loud music in the dressing room early in the morning,” said Vandenbempt.

“He says that he dreams of playing in the Premier League or Bundesliga – and he could make it. The couple of games against West Ham are like two job interviews for him,” he added.

You can be sure that Victor Orta and co will be watching Orban’s displays against West Ham, helping Leeds decide whether to make a move.

There is though the fear that Orban may just be so good that other Premier League clubs end up joining the race for the wonderkid this summer.
