Leeds United are believed to be closing in on a deal to sign Werder Bremen goalkeeper Felix Wiedwald.

Leeds United fans should be encouraged by Werder Bremen fans’ opinions of Felix Wiedwald on Twitter.

According to reports in Kicker, Leeds are closing in on signing Wiedwald – with Thomas Christiansen’s side eager to add a new goalkeeper.

Although Rob Green did a stellar job in goal for Leeds last season, a new number one has been put onto the Elland Road club’s transfer wishlist.

And it is believed that Wiedwald is Leeds’ top target, with the Whites closing in on a deal.

Very little is known about Wiedwald in England, but Leeds fans should be enthused by the bulk of Bremen supporters’ reactions to his displays last term.

If Wiedwald does move to Leeds he could become Christiansen’s second signing since taking charge of the Yorkshire club.

Leeds have already brought in Mateusz Klich this summer, and agreed a deal for Hadi Sacko earlier in the transfer window.

Leeds kick off their season with a match against Bolton Wanderers at the start of August.
