Leeds United are said to be keen on signing Stevenage defender Ben Wilmot.

Latest Leeds United target Ben Wilmot was once compared with Alfie Mawson by former Stevenage boss Darren Sarll.
Sarll played with Mawson at Brentford, when the Swansea City centre-back was a youngster.
And he saw great similarities between Wilmot’s and Mawson’s styles.
Sarll said, just two months ago to the Daily Mail: “He didn’t look 18, did he? He’s got a reading of the game, and an intelligence.

“I was very lucky at Brentford that I recruited a young man called Alfie Mawson, who’d been released from Reading.
“They have a very similar compatibility between them as players and people. Both have got a fantastic desire. Alfie has gone on to play at the very top and for his country (at Under-21 level).
“Listen, regardless of whether Ben plays for his country or not, I think he’ll play at the very top.”
If Leeds do sign Wilmot, as they are said to be trying by the Independent, then they will be desperate for him to go to be as successful as Mawson has been.
Since making a switch to Swansea, Mawson’s reputation has increased considerably and he could now be going to the World Cup.

Mawson has been called into England’s latest squad, for their friendlies against Holland and Italy, as his strong form has earned international recognition.
And while Wilmot would have to impress at Elland Road to have a similar career to Mawson, if he is even half the player of the Swansea man, he would be a valuable addition to Leeds’ team.
