Arne Slot is being backed to become the new Tottenham Hotspur manager after working wonders at Feyenoord.

Tottenham have parted ways with boss Antonio Conte with Cristian Stellini and Ryan Mason taking charge until the summer.

Daniel Levy and co will ultimately be looking at potential replacements for the summer though, attempting to use the coming weeks to plan a big move.

The likes of Luis Enrique, Mauricio Pochettino and Julian Nagelsmann have been strongly linked with all three out of work.

Tottenham could look to make a raid for an in-work manager though with Roberto De Zerbi and Thomas Frank heavily linked.

Another name in the mix is Slot, with The Times suggesting that Tottenham are interested in the Feyenoord boss.

Slot was a Leeds United target in February before deciding to stay with Feyenoord at least until the summer.

De Telegraaf’s Kick Off podcast claimed that Slot received an offer worth around £75,000-a-week from Leeds – but he snubbed the Whites.

Arne Slot backed to become Tottenham manager

News of Conte’s exit and interest in Slot has made its way to the Netherlands.

Voetbal International analyst Pieter Zwart has now suggested that Slot could be ideal for Spurs.

Zwart, as quoted by Voetbal Primeur, believes that Slot will be in the running for the Tottenham job.

Zwart suggested that Slot’s work on limited resources at both AZ Alkmaar and now Feyenoord will attract Daniel Levy.

“Chairman Daniel Levy has the image of a miser. He wants to achieve a lot with little money. That is of course what Arne Slot has done,” said Zwart. “First at AZ, where he competed for the title, and now he is doing the same at Feyenoord with a low budget. I can imagine that he would come into the picture.”

“You can go in all kinds of directions and there are many candidates available. Slot could be one of them,” he added.

Slot has Feyenoord in top spot in the Eredivisie and closing in on the title.

In the Europa League, Feyenoord are into the last eight and take on Jose Mourinho’s Roma for a semi-final spot.

This has been an incredible season for Feyenoord and it’s all down to Slot.

The Dutchman has promoted a superb brand of attacking football in a 4-2-3-1 system with the goals flying in.

Tottenham seemingly dodged Erik ten Hag in 2021 and have been made to rue that decision.

Slot could give Levy a chance to rectify that mistake and potentially bring a Dutch manager to North London after all.
