Leeds United youngster Liam Kitching’s dream loan spell continues.

Kitching is currently at non-league Harrogate Town and scored last night in their clash with Alfreton.

Playing in non-league is an introduction to competitive first team football for Kitching and so far he is showing he can handle it.

He has plenty to learn still but so far he is making a strong impression.

Kitching was called up by Leeds to their first team for the FA Cup clash with Newport County where he was an unused substitute.

He was sent out on loan to Harrogate a fortnight later for one-month, and he impressed so much that they recently extended his deal until the end of the season.

Last night’s goal was the second he has scored for the club, not bad for an 18-year-old centre-back.

It is too early to suddenly assume that his positive progress for Harrogate could mean he could quickly transition into the Leeds team, but the signs are certainly encouraging.

He will return to Leeds a better and more experienced player and the Whites have to be delighted with his early progress.
