Leeds United supporters react to Kalvin Phillips’ reported price tag amid Aston Villa interest

Leeds United’s Kalvin Phillips has reportedly caught the eye of newly-promoted Aston Villa this summer.

Leeds United supporters on Twitter have insisted that Kalvin Phillips is worth the price tag that has been touted for him amid links with Aston Villa.

It is no secret now that Villa are keen on the services of the highly-rated defensive-minded midfielder, who produced his best season in a Whites shirt last term.

The Sun have claimed that Leeds have slapped a £30 million price tag on the 23-year-old, which has left interested party Villa ‘frustrated’ in their pursuit to sign him.

The Elland Road faithful have made it clear that considering how important Phillips is to them, he is worth every penny that the club want for him.

Last season, he was instrumental in Leeds finishing in the playoff places, as his performances in front of the defence impressed many in the second tier.

Not only did the Leeds academy product deploy a number six role, but he was also utilised in central-defence by Marcelo Bielsa when injuries were mounting up during the season.

Whilst Villa earned promotion back to the Premier League, Leeds’ season ended in heartache, but they have seemingly overcome that disastrous night at Elland Road against Derby.

Bielsa has extended his contract, and the Leeds faithful will be hoping that Phillips will also be here next term because he will be key to their promotion push.
