Leeds striker Steve Morison says he has ‘never seen anything like’ this season at Elland Road.
Leeds United striker Steve Morison told BBC Radio Leeds that the recent situation at Elland Road has been ‘tough’.
Morison, 31, joined the Whites from Norwich City in January 2013 in a part-exchange deal for Luciano Becchio, but certainly hasn’t enjoyed the same success as the Argentine.
Despite playing regularly under Neil Redfearn this season, Morison’s goal in the 2-1 defeat to Charlton Athletic on Saturday afternoon was his first goal of the season – and in fact, his first goal for Leeds in over two years.
His well taken goal on Saturday was a long time coming for Morison, whose lack of goals have been a problem for Leeds despite his work rate and ability to play as a lone striker in attack.
The drought is now over for Morison, but it came in a fifth straight defeat for Leeds, who let a 1-0 lead slip at the Valley as Charlton staged a second half comeback to win the game.
Manager Neil Redfearn has not only been dealt with the suspension of his assistant Steve Thompson, but also the chaos surrounding six players all pulling out of Leeds’ trip to Charlton under suspicious circumstances.
Morison was asked about the situation by BBC Radio West Yorkshire, and says that the continuous drama at Elland Road is like nothing he’s ever experienced in his long career to date.
Morison’s comments could be a concern for Leeds given that they will want to attract players to the club this summer, and now many are wondering whether Leeds can ever end the drama under the ownership of Massimo Cellino.
