During an exclusive interview with the Independent, Leeds United striker Chris Wood explained how Garry Monk has restored a level of ‘sanity’ at Elland Road – something that has been missing for the past few seasons.
The Whites have really impressed so far this term, and currently sit in fourth position in the Championship table, in what has been quite a remarkable turnaround after they took just a single point from their opening three league games.

Thankfully for Leeds fans, the club’s owner Massimo Cellino for once showed faith in his manager, and allowed Monk the chance to prove himself – something that he has done with conviction.
And Wood, who has scored 10 goals in 19 Championship outings for Leeds so far this season, explained how much of an important role stability has played during the Whites’ impressive campaign thus far, as quoted by the Independent:
“Last year, there was a lot of chopping and changing, then a lot of change last summer. As players, we just want a season that is chilled out, with consistency the whole way through. This season shows how much that consistency is working for us.”

Leeds face second placed Brighton & Hove Albion tomorrow night, and a victory for Monk’s men would well and truly see them throw their hat into the automatic promotion mix.
And Garry Monk deserves every bit of credit for leading his side to the position in which his side currently sit at this stage of the campaign.
