The New Zealand attacker has been in fine form for Leeds this season.

Leeds United are currently in a great run of form in the Championship. They sit sixth in the table after some good performances in recent weeks and are looking like genuine promotion candidates.

One of the key reasons for that good placement in the table is the form of New Zealand international Chris Wood.

The Kiwi striker has scored 11 goals in 19 appearances for Leeds, including four in his last five games for the club.

He is currently away on international duty with his nation and spoke to New Zealand-based website Stuff.co this week that whilst he was enjoying his football, he didn’t care who scored as long as Leeds won:

“I’m just enjoying playing my football at the moment.

“Luckily the goals are coming and that is nice but good [team] performances are also coming and that is main thing for me.

“It doesn’t matter who scores the goals as long as we are performing well and winning games.”

Many a Leeds fan doubted the player after some poor performances at the start of the campaign, it even saw him give some needle back to the Elland Road faithful.

But that only earned him respect with the Leeds fans and he has earned it with some excellent performances this season.

If he carries on the way he is for Leeds than who knows where the club might finish.
