Leeds United striker Chris Wood has scored 11 goals in 19 games this season.
Leeds United striker Chris Wood has told New Zealand football’s official website that he is still suffering with a niggling injury.
Wood has already played 19 times for Leeds this season, with the striker playing an important role for Garry Monk’s side.
And Wood admits that he is short of 100% fitness, but he is hoping he can play the whole of New Zealand’s match against New Caledonia.

“It’s been a long season already for me but we are making sure everything feels alright and I trained today and feel fine,” Wood said. “I am hoping that I will be ok for 90 minutes. I don’t see the niggle being a problem at all.”
Leeds will be hoping that Wood’s injury does not worsen during the international break, as he is so vital to their team.
Wood is currently topping Leeds’ scoring charts, after the target-man has netted 11 goals in his first 19 matches.

Wood is Leeds’ main man up-front, as the Whites aim to get promoted this season.
Garry Monk’s side are currently in the top six, after a strong run of form has accelerated them up the Championship table.
Leeds are next in action after the international break, when they take on Newcastle United at Elland Road.
