Leeds United brought experienced goalkeeper Robert Green to the club on a free transfer last summer.

Whites stopper Robert Green spoke during an exclusive interview for a feature for Leeds’ official match-day programme, and shared a story regarding how his move to Elland Road came about in the summer, and elaborated on the reason why he chose to join Garry Monk’s revolution.
Despite a tough start to life in West Yorkshire, the 37-year-old has recovered well, and has been in superb form recently, conceding just nine goals in his last 10 Championship outings for the club.
The West Yorkshire outfit have performed admirably this term, and currently sit in fourth position in the Championship table, although they are only six points ahead of Fulham in seventh place, after taking just two points from their last two league outings.
And Green has most certainly played his part in his side’s impressive campaign thus far.
The former West Ham United and QPR ‘keeper sat down for an interview with Leeds United’s official match-day programme, and shared the phone-call he received from his agent which prompted his move to the Whites:

“I was out in Hyde Park watching Massive Attack play and I got a call from my agent saying Leeds wanted to sign me and that he thought I should speak to them. For me my future move was not money driven, it was a move to re-ignite me wanting to play football again.”
The experienced stopper will have to be at his very best during the remainder of Leeds’ campaign, if they are to achieve promotion to the Premier League, and with games against Brighton and Hove Albion and Newcastle United due to come over the next month, he will be expecting some busy weekends ahead of him.
