Leeds United defender Pontus Jansson has been shown 11 yellow cards in the Championship so far this season.
Jansson has picked up as many as 11 yellow cards in 37 Championship appearances for Leeds so far this campaign.
The Sweden international centre-back, though, has made it clear that he will not change his game due to the cautions.
The 27-year-old, though, has admitted that he will have to behave, and be clever and not pick up any more yellow cards.
Jansson told Leeds Live when asked if the yellow card situation affects his game: “No, it doesn’t effect how I play but I have to think about this now and I know that I can’t take more than three because I don’t want to be suspended at the start of next year. So it’s a little bit thinking about it but it will not effect my game.”
The Leeds defender added: “I know that the yellow cards I get in this league are because I get angry and I get stupid yellow cards so I have to behave myself and be clever.”
Combative footballer
Jansson is a very combative footballer who goes into tough challenges, and it would not be a good idea to take that away from his game.
However, the Sweden international needs to control his temper and must be careful with challenges between now and the end of the season.
The 27-year-old initially joined Leeds on loan from Torino in the summer of 2016 and made the move permanent in the summer of 2017 for a transfer fee reported by The Yorkshire Evening Post to be worth £3.5 million.
