The Spanish midfielder is hoping to be part of a consortium that buys CD Castellon.
Leeds United fans have certainly been won over by summer signing Pablo Hernandez this season. The Spaniard has been excellent since his arrival and he returned to action after several weeks out injured at the weekend with a cool finish to round off a 4-1 win against Preston North End.
The Spaniard is just one of a few key men helping Leeds in their bid to return to glory. In a similar way, he is also trying to do the same with his first club.
This week the 31-year-old, who has four caps for the Spanish national team, has been speaking to the press in Spain about his attempts to try and save CD Castellon from extinction.

He spoke to El Periodico Mediterraneo this week about his hopes to save the club – who are currently in serious financial problems:
“I can only say that we have a serious project to save Castellón.
“We are a group of people from Castellón and we know that if someone wants to enter the club Albinegro must do things well. We are trying to reach an agreement for some time, but the other party is not making it easy.
“Our only idea is to save the CD Castellón. The money is there and only need to reach an agreement.
“We just want the best for the Castellón CD and guarantee its survival and that it will be the Castellón we all want, but I repeat that we do not make it easy, but we are trying and we will continue to do so.”
Pablo Hernandez celebrates scoring v Austria
Hernandez played at Castellon from 1997 until 2003 and former Valencia star Gaizka Mendieta also began his career at the club.
Currently they play in the Tercera, Spanish football’s fourth tier, but are fighting for promotion.
Pablo is currently at Leeds, a club with plenty of history when it comes to financial cliffhanging.
Hopefully he can manage to lead his old club back to safety, whilst helping Leeds back to the top-flight of English football.
