Leeds United and Manchester United have a famed, storied rivalry, and many neutral fans can’t wait for them to renew pleasantries this season.

The Whites are back in the top flight, and they will no doubt want to beat the Red Devils to really show that they’re truly back.

Many will remember how Alan Smith went from hometown hero to public enemy number one in Leeds having controversially joined Manchester United in 2004.

They just don’t like each other very much, but Mateusz Klich put the rivalry to one side on Wednesday night.

The Red Devils were in Champions League action, thrashing RB Leipzig 5-0 at Old Trafford in an unexpectedly dominant performance.

Mason Greenwood put United in front, but Marcus Rashford stole the show by smashing a hat-trick as a substitute – and one moment stood out.

Rashford had already bagged two, and despite being on a hat-trick, he allowed teammate Anthony Martial to take and score a penalty rather than trying to take the glory for himself.

Rashford is earning praise from all corners for his work attempting to extend free school meals, and now Leed star Klich has offered praise too.

Klich tweeted out his ‘respect’ for Rashford as a ‘team player’, praising him for putting Martial before himself as United won the penalty – but you can be sure Klich wants to beat him and United this season.
