Leeds United star says he once had a trial at the club’s rivals.

Leeds United midfielder Kalvin Phillips has told the Yorkshire Evening Post he once had a trial at Huddersfield Town.
Phillips says he knew straight away that it did not feel right, and soon after he earned a contract with Leeds.
He said: “As soon as I went there, I thought ‘I don’t like it. It’s not for me’. I was growing up around Leeds and I idolised Leeds. I went to Huddersfield and thought it was a good chance but I got there and felt like I didn’t really fancy it.
“A couple of weeks later I went to Leeds and I haven’t looked back.”

Phillips has been a key player under Leeds manager Marcelo Bielsa. He has been voted the club’s player of the season award.
His performances have deserved a Premier League role, but he has to help Leeds get into the top flight through the play-offs.
If Leeds are unsuccessful, then matches against Huddersfield await Phillips next season, with the Terriers recently relegated.
Leeds take on Derby County in the play-off semi finals.
