Izzy Brown’s Leeds United debut was not worth the wait.

Leeds Uniteds Izzy Brown warms up during the Sky Bet Championship match between Middlesbrough and Leeds United at Riverside Stadium on February 9, 2019 in Middlesbrough, England.

Izzy Brown made his long awaited debut for Leeds United on Tuesday night against Queens Park Rangers.

Brown signed on loan in August and returned to action for the under-23s in December after a serious knee injury.

Manager Marcelo Bielsa has been reluctant to use Brown, only doing so on Tuesday when he was out of options.

Brown was Leeds’ third substitute, coming on in the 80th minute.

The Chelsea owned youngster made no impact.

In 10 minutes, he managed… one touch.

To compound his misery, he was booked.

After the wait and hype, Brown’s performance was a bit embarrassing for the exciting midfielder.

Manager Marcelo Bielsa must shoulder the blame for that.

He could have introduced Brown earlier in the game, or in another match previously, even from the start.

Throwing him on when he did, produced an anxious performance, with Brown lacking the poise required.

It’s now time for Bielsa to give Brown some proper game time, instead of asking him to produce a miracle.
