Leeds United's Chris Wood celebrates after scoring their second goal

Leeds United striker Chris Wood has revealed to Sky Sports that he supports Premier League giants Chelsea.

The New Zealand international has also explained why he is a fan of the London club.

“Chelsea,” Wood told Sky Sports when asked which team he supports. “My sister is partly named after the club. My dad grew up supporting them and I followed him.”

Wood has been superb for Leeds so far this season and has been one of the best players in the Championship.

The former West Bromwich Albion and Leicester City striker has scored 24 goals and has provided two assists for the Whites so far this campaign.

The 25-year-old has been instrumental in Leeds’s progress this season. Garry Monk’s side are fourth in the Championship table at the moment with 69 points from 38 matches.

It looks very likely at the moment that the West Yorkshire outfit will end up in the top six of the league table.

Leeds will return to action on Saturday evening when they will take on Reading away from home at the Madejski Stadium in the Championship.

It is going to be hard for the Whites to pick up all three points from the encounter, but they should be able to bag a point.
